If you’ve used Windows 10 for a while or at all, you’ve probably used Edge, it’s the built in Web browser for Windows 10. It’s ok, it’s not great, ok, sometimes it awful. After years of trying to convince us it’s not that bad, Microsoft gave in and started building a whole new browser called… Edge. Yes it’s got the same name but a new ‘engine’, this browser is build using Chromium, the same as Google Chrome. To put it simply, it’s way better, it’s faster and behaves very similar to Chrome but with a few extra Microsoft features thrown in.
Microsoft will roll out new Edge via Windows updates soon(ish), Insiders have started to get it now so it shouldn’t be too long before the general public start seeing it pop up.
If you’re subscribed to a WYSIWYG Managed support package you will automatically get new Edge pushed to your computer on the 6th April 2020.
If you can’t wait though, go over to the download page and get it now! It’s free, it’s fast, it’s a huge improvement.
The easiest way to tell if you already have new Edge is the icon, the new one is slightly different.
There are some nice features the new Edge has, we’ll be adding a post about them very soon so watch this space.
